Debbie is the founder and president of The Diamond Benefit Group (TDBG). TDBG was established in 1996 and has continued to grow with a loyal and diverse clientele. Prior to establishing her own consulting business, Debbie specialized in partially self-funded employee health benefit plans for over five years. Debbie works with small to medium size employers handling all facets of their employee health benefits in both fully insured and level funded plans for group clients. Debbie also works with individuals who need access to individual health insurance as well as the senior market (Medicare). Although the industry and market continues to change constantly, one thing has never changed. Above all else, Debbie respects and honors relations by providing “old fashion” personal service.
Debbie currently holds an active life and health license in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, and Colorado. Debbie is very passionate about continuing education as well as self-improvement which is why Debbie has and continues to work towards professional designations and certifications. Debbie has earned the prestigious Registered Employee Benefits Consultant® (REBC®) designation. The field of employee benefits continues to evolve rapidly. A year does not go by without new government regulations, new or modified coverages, and new techniques for controlling benefit costs. To best serve her clients, Debbie feels it a critical to have the most current understanding of the provisions, advantages, and limitations associated with each type of benefit or program as a method for meeting economic security. The designation program analyzes group benefits with respect to the ACA environment, contract provisions, marketing, underwriting, rating, plan design, cost containment, and alternative funding methods.
Debbie’s holds the prestigious PPACA certification. The PPACA certification requires success completion of an exam after an extensive ten course program which identifies the key technical components of PPACA and a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of healthcare reform. Debbie also holds the advanced degree of Chartered Benefit Consultant (ACBS) designating her as an expert in HSA’s and other alternative funding benefit programs. Other accomplishments include the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation, Consumer Directed Healthcare (CDHC) certification, Small Group Specialist (SgS) certification, Chartered Healthcare Consultants (ChHC®) designation, Self-funded certification, and the Individual Health Insurance certification. Each year Debbie completes her annual re-certification to work with the Federal Marketplace (FMM) as well as her annual re-certification to work with Medicare products in the senior market.
Among various associations, Debbie is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, the Dallas Association of Health Underwriters, the Ft. Worth Association of Health Underwriters, & the National Association of Alternative Benefit Consultants. Debbie and her husband of 30+ years have two grown children. Although she grew up on the east coast, she considers herself a Texas native now. Debbie enjoys volunteering her time in the community, working out, gardening, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family & friends.
