Debbie is the founder and president of The Diamond Benefit Group (TDBG). TDBG was established in 1996 and has continued to grow with a loyal and diverse clientele. Prior to establishing her own consulting business, Debbie specialized in partially self-funded employee health benefit plans for over five years. Debbie works with small to medium size employers handling all facets of their employee health benefits. Debbie also works with individuals who need access to individual health insurance. Although the industry and market continues to change constantly, one thing has never changed. Above all else, Debbie respects and honors relations by providing “old fashion” personal service.
Debbie currently holds an active life and health license in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, and Colorado. Debbie is very passionate about continuing education as well as self-improvement which is why Debbie has and continues to work towards professional designations and certifications.
Debbie has earned the prestigious Registered Employee Benefits Consultant® (REBC®) designation. The field of employee benefits continues to evolve rapidly. A year does not go by without new government regulations, new or modified coverages, and new techniques for controlling benefit costs. To best serve her clients, Debbie feels it a critical to have the most current understanding of the provisions, advantages, and limitations associated with each type of benefit or program as a method for meeting economic security. The designation program analyzes group benefits with respect to the ACA environment, contract provisions, marketing, underwriting, rate making, plan design, cost containment, and alternative funding methods. The largest portion of this program is devoted to group medical plans that are a major concern to employers, as well as to employees.
Debbie’s holds the prestigious PPACA certification. The PPACA certification requires success completion of an exam after an extensive ten course program which identifies the key technical components of PPACA and a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of healthcare reform. Debbie also holds the advanced degree of Chartered Benefit Consultant (ACBS) designating her as an expert in H S A’s and other alternative funding benefit programs. Other accomplishments include the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation, the Small Group Specialist (SgS) certification, Chartered Healthcare Consultants (ChHC) designation, Self-funded certification, Consumer Directed Healthcare certification, Individual Health Insurance certification, and is certified to work within the Federal Marketplace.
Among various associations, Debbie is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, the Dallas Association of Health Underwriters, and the Ft. Worth Association of Health Underwriters. Debbie and her husband of 30 years have two children who are both in college. Although she grew up on the east coast, she considers herself a Texas native now. Debbie enjoys volunteering her time in the community, working out, gardening, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family & friends.
